This is an alpine ski trip, which means you must master randonné, splitboard or telemark in hilly terrain under varied snow conditions. We expect everyone to be familiar with the use of their equipment, which inlcludes a beacon-device, shovel, and a probe. The hikes inlcludes basic skills for downhill skiing. In addition, you should be in good enough shape to be on a trip for 4-6 hours and walks of 800-1100 altitude meters in a day.

Tour description:

We drive Friday evening to Hemsedal where we will establish our base on a single standard cabin. Saturday is the plan to go for a medieum long trip where we will cross either one or several peaks if conditions permit this. On Sunday we will take a slightly shorter trip on one of the nearby peaks so that we return to Oslo at an unforeseen time. We aim for a destination that is included in the category "Safe Terrain" which means that the slope does not exceed 30 degrees and the terrain is relatively low. Examples are Høgeloft, Store Jugleeggi, Råskardfjellet, Storebottskarvet, Fuglehaugnøset, Leinenosi, Harahorn, Skurvefjellet or Nibbi or Skarvanfjellet. The final route is determined by weather and slope conditions.

Transportation:

We will travel by private cars from Oslo. With regard to the environment, we will try to ride together as far as possible, the idea is that we drive 2-3 cars at 17:30 from Oslo Friday afternoon. We will arrive at Skravheim somewhere between 21:30 and 22:30 for supper and a late cup of tea. On Sunday, we will try to make a hike in the Hemsedal-region before driving back to Oslo in the afternoon. The time of arrival in Oslo will be some time between 21:00 and 22:30.
